Meet our Prayer Director
Dr. Mary Alice Bright

Dr. Mary Alice Bright is a transplant to Garden.  She and her husband David moved to Garden City from Northeast, Ohio.  They moved to our area to serve alongside dear friends Scott and Emanda Rosen in their ministry at High Plains House of Prayer.

She and David are local music teachers. After 30 years in Mayfield, David is now the choral director for USD 363!  In his third year, he is well on his way to becoming a Longhorn!  Go Holcomb!

Mary started with USD 457,  as an elementary music educator, and has graciously moved to a role with more flexibility so she can serve as our area prayer director.  Mary is an opera singer, a wife, a mom and an accompanist who doesn't accompany (just ask her about that story).  She is currently serving the Holcomb's music department as a paraprofessional.   She is a vibrant addition to our staff and excited to be exploring her new role.

Mary and David have served many churches in music ministry and currently helping to build Plymell Union Church's worship team.

Prayer and worship have always been a passion.  As Mary prayed over their move to Garden, God gave her a beautiful vision of all of the nations worshipping and praying together.  Garden stands in a unique place.  Many different peoples call this city home and the body of Christ is so beautifully diverse.  There are over 30 language groups within our borders.  How thrilling it is to find each other!  Mary's deep heart is for the unity of the Body of Christ.  She is praying and seeking God's heart for that unity in the area of prayer and worship.

In her role at City Prayer, Mary looks to build bridges between churches and peoples and provide a common ground of communication and communion.
